USB Wi-Fi adapter designed to provide wireless network connectivity for compatible Hikvision DVR and NVR recorders.

It is ideal for installations where running an Ethernet network cable between the CCTV recorder and the router is difficult, inconvenient or not practical.

The adapter plugs directly into a supported Hikvision recorder’s USB port. Once installed, the recorder can be configured to connect to an available 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

This allows the recorder to access the local network and internet wirelessly instead of requiring a direct Ethernet cable connection.

HOW IT IS USED

Plug the Hikvision DS-3WR3X-1 into a USB port on a compatible Hikvision DVR or NVR.
Open the recorder’s Network or Wi-Fi settings.
Enable Wi-Fi and search for available wireless networks.
Select the required 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
Enter the Wi-Fi password.
Once connected, the recorder can use its supported network and remote-access features over the wireless connection.

For example, if a Hikvision recorder is installed in a loft, cupboard, office, outbuilding or another location without an Ethernet cable nearby, the DS-3WR3X-1 can provide a convenient wireless connection back to the router.

Once connected to the network, supported recorder functions may include Hik-Connect remote viewing, remote configuration, internet connectivity and other network-based services, depending on the recorder model and configuration.

DVR COMPATIBILITY

The DS-3WR3X-1 supports selected Hikvision Turbo HD DVR models when used with compatible firmware.

Supported ranges can include selected models from the following Hikvision families:

NVR COMPATIBILITY

The DS-3WR3X-1 can also be used with selected compatible Hikvision NVR models.

However, it is important to note that compatibility is not universal across every Hikvision NVR.

NVR compatibility depends on the exact recorder model, hardware version and installed firmware.

We therefore recommend checking the full NVR model number before ordering.

IMPORTANT – WHAT THE DS-3WR3X-1 DOES

The DS-3WR3X-1 provides a wireless network connection for the CCTV recorder itself.

For example:

Normal connection:

Cameras → DVR/NVR → Ethernet Cable → Router

Using the DS-3WR3X-1:

Cameras → DVR/NVR → Wi-Fi → Router

This can remove the need to install a separate Ethernet cable between the recorder and router.

IMPORTANT – WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

The DS-3WR3X-1 does not automatically convert wired CCTV cameras into wireless cameras.

It should not be considered a Wi-Fi adapter for individual IP cameras.

Its primary purpose is to provide network connectivity to a compatible Hikvision recorder.

The cameras continue to connect to the DVR or NVR using the normal connection method supported by the CCTV system.

For example, Turbo HD cameras can continue to connect to a DVR using coaxial cable while the DVR itself connects to the router using the DS-3WR3X-1 over Wi-Fi.
